A landscaping delivery can interrupt a coating’s cure period even when it lasts only a few minutes. Wheelbarrows concentrate weight through a narrow tire and can bring soil, grit and water onto the finish. Access planning belongs in the sealing schedule.

Separate foot traffic from loaded equipment

The product’s pedestrian reopening guidance may not cover a loaded wheelbarrow, cart or pallet jack. Ask about the actual load, tire material, route and coating age. Do not assume that a finish ready for walking is ready for every form of traffic. Keep the route closed until the relevant exposure is permitted.

Schedule deliveries before coating where practical

Complete soil, mulch and plant deliveries before the final cleaning and preparation stage, provided that work will not contaminate finished surfaces afterward. If landscaping must occur later, define an alternative route or a product-specific reopening plan. Workers need a clear boundary and a named person who can authorize access.

Prevent rolling grit into the finish

Inspect wheels and remove loose debris before equipment crosses cured pavement. Avoid sharp turns or dragging stand legs across the surface. If a mark occurs, inspect it after cleaning and drying before applying a repair coat. An abrasion, tire transfer and soil stain require different responses.

Before you proceed

  • Identify loaded-equipment traffic before setting the schedule.
  • Coordinate deliveries with final preparation and cure.
  • Inspect tires and routes before reopening access.

Can plywood protect a coating that is still curing?

Do not assume it can. Covering, concentrated contact and trapped moisture may create additional problems; confirm a permitted method with the supplier.

Connect this decision to the sealing system

Review the related planning guide before selecting a treatment. For film-forming options, compare UltraGloss SX and Ultra Seal Classic Gloss against the actual substrate, preparation and exposure. Product selection does not resolve structural, equipment or drainage problems. Use the Sealer Finder as a starting point, then confirm the current label, technical data and SDS.
